Can you change Changing UPC or EAN on Amazon products?

Online Seller UK has been delivering Amazon training to brands, manufacturers and SMEs for the last 4 years. We have met sellers at various stages of their growth and helped them with whatever support they need to move to the next level.

One of the pressing topics in our training is GTINs, also known as EAN. Where should we get them? Undoubtedly, many sellers get them from eBay as it is the cheaper source, but we are seeing notifications lately on Amazon that we need to have GS1 numbers. We don’t know at this stage what is going to happen for millions of products with non-GS1 EAN, but I’d certainly work toward protecting my products or brand, which I have worked on for many years. If they go out of the search overnight, there is not much I can do about it.

This is exactly the reason why we recommend acting now when your business is growing, you can afford to pay for GS1 EANs.

What about our product reviews? Are they going to stay?  This is a very common question we get asked during our Amazon training courses. We have tried ourselves and this has stayed on. So, we can now say you can start changing yours. Below is a short video I created to show how I have done this. It is a no-brainer, but this confirms what’s been said above.
