David joined GS1 UK in 2013 as Head of Digital.
He leads the GS1 UK digital strategy, which aims to develop services to help our members succeed in a retail environment where physical and digital have converged. He helps our members to seamlessly switch between high street, online and mobile shopping by using standards, which create continuity and consistency. After 10 years in publishing, he worked at the Football Association developing their licensing and merchandising programme, where in 1998 he launched their online store, England-Direct.
David has been involved in online retail ever since, and has served as Head of eCommerce for a number of brand and sports websites. He also spent four years as Director of Operations for the online retail membership organisation, IMRG.
In 2010, he was voted as one of Retail Week’s Top 50 most influential people in online retail.
